The TechRepublic Geekend Blog
It wasn't all business at TechRepublic. We also recognized the importance of the tech-savvy lifestyle in our audience. Over the years, I wrote or edited dozens of articles, blog posts, and image galleries focusing on the technical geek side of life.

Geek Gift Guide
During my tenure at TechRepublic I was charged with developing, coordinating, and producing the TechRepublic Geek Gift Guide each November starting with 2008. Despite its popularity, the TechRepublic Geek Gift Guide was moth-balled in 2012.
World of Warcraft
The Geekend Blog on TechRepublic drew a significant amount of interest from advertisers. The idea of information technology professionals hanging around a website discussing gadgets and games was very enticing. As part of that audience engagement, I wrote server travel log pieces for the MMORPG World of Warcraft. TechRepublic even had its own guild, Technologia. It still exists today, with yours truly as guild leader.

Geekend blog posts (a sample)
The driving force behind the Geekend Blog was Jay Garmon and his very popular Geek Trivia articles, but I supplemented those with reviews and some commentary of my own.
